I don't think it's a bad investment, and think from the perspective of a person which uses his PC for all the other uses, like programmers, video editors, these PC's are a great investment for them. And the guys which can spend 100$ on PC must be using them for streaming, editing and lots of stuff.
If the computer isn't going anywhere in the near future then the PC gaming is going to stick to it.
