Rotate Desktop. How?
« on: February 15, 2017, 03:05:22 PM »
I found out how to rotate my desktop in Windows XP. ;D
But how come I never saw t his before? Has it always been there?

Once in that position, it was hard to move the mouse.  :'(
Will it work like that in other versions of Windows?

It's not a Windows Feature, it's a feature of the Graphics Driver.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

So then it is not the system? It is a hardware feature?
Then if I get a new video card, it wail not be the same?  :-\

Practically all recent video cards have some way to rotate the screen, how you do it varies between cards.  On Intel cards (which I presume you're using from the screenshot) you can use the menu when you right click the desktop or Ctrl+Alt+Arrow Keys.  Other cards may require you to use the manufacturer's control panel.

In fact, that used to work. I suspect that my system got an update for the Intel drivers and remove the Ctrl+Alt+Arrow Key feature. But I am not sure. Oh well. At least it is there if I need it.

The resins for unending it is to get a high resolution landscape screen shot  view of a document I want to save. Often I see images on the Internet that I can not save, so I do a screenshot. Using rotate gives higher resolutions of portrait documents when turned 90 degrees.  :)

That feature may also be available in the doc app you are using...
