Battery failure...battery replaced. Still says fail
    « on: May 28, 2017, 01:26:59 PM »
So my laptop battery failed. No big deal. Bought  a new one and popped it in. Turned my laptop on after days of it being dead and it still says the battery has failed and even though the batter says it's fully charged, my laptop will shut off when I unplug it. It's a dell with windows 10. I don't know what to do.

First off ... Is the laptop new enough to be covered by any warranty?

Next is this replacement battery a DELL part or a generic brand made to fit in a Dell?

Additionally this could be caused by a connection issue with the battery and laptop.... was this laptop ever exposed to any liquids or taken any falls to where the battery connection to main board could be damaged?

Have your new battery checked under warranty if it is not defective. If not, there might be a problem with your laptop's charging system.
