    Java will not install.
    « on: June 14, 2017, 06:56:59 PM »
I needed to download the 64 bit version of java for a video game. I recently had the 32 bit version of java. I then tried to install the 64 bit version but when I tried to open the installer, nothing happens. Literally nothing. I have tried so many ways to install the java. I have tried safe mode, uninstalling my current java (furthering the issue because now I have NO java program installed on my computer), and even tried using programs like ninite to download the java program for me (resulting in the ninite program working, but saying that the java files have failed to download https://i.gyazo.com/1cf8628e839f47172fb1935a300213f1.png). I have tried to use a restore point on my computer but even that won't work, saying that it failed to successfully restore and that nothing changed as a result. I have tried running the program in administrator but that resulted in the same issue of nothing occurring.

My pc specs are : msi gtx 980 TI ; 16 gb of ram ; i5-4670k ; msi Z87-GD65 motherboard.

Verifying that this is for JAVA and not Java Script support?

Theres a difference between them and want to make sure we are addressing the correct one. I have seen more games for Java Script vs Java and so thats why I am asking.

I initially thought the same thing, but then I saw system specs and thought probably not. To have 16GB RAM and use only 3GB of it with a 32-bit OS... However if its dual boot and they do have XP 32-bit or some other 32-bit OS then it would be a problem for sure.  ;D

Windows gives an error message as well if attempting to run a 64-bit program on a 32-bit version of the OS, so I don't think that is the case.
