    Have XP with sevice pack 2 need a player for MPEG any simple ones that work

    VLC is very suitable, and leaves the others in the weeds.

      According to my experience, VLC is one of the best player among all MPEG players, but rather than this, there are so many MPEG players like PotPlayer, Media Player Classic, ACG Player, GOM Player etc. So, you can choose anyone from them.

      +1 for VLC.
      have yet to have VLC not play anything I threw at it.
      also very small size and regularly updated.
