That was mu first take. Maybe in the days ahead Microsoft will explain why this is more that hard drive reliability.

The implication is that when you have a very huge memory array, you can have strange errors that are not correctable by the tools we already have.

As I understand it, normally, when one drive in a RAID is found to be corrupt you have to manually rebuild the Array. It sounds like ReFS includes features aimed at the File System being used with RAID redundancy that allows those sorts of tasks to be handled automatically. it also looks like it is able to keep volumes "live" when they are damaged where NTFS often makes a volume entirely inaccessible due to corruptions.
