Posible PayPay e-mail scam?
« on: September 18, 2017, 11:04:41 PM »
I have received e-mail that claims to be from PayPal. It  wants me to provide information that would let somebody have my social security number.

Here is why I think it is a scam. If PayPal wants to send me a message, taht can do it inside o my account. There is an area for that.

When they do send me e-mails, it is as just a reminder and never for more information. They expect me to go directly to the pay-pal site, not some other location.

My questions:
Has this ever been found in your e-nail?
And how do I report this as a scam?

Have you ever heard of "phishing"?

Yes, I almost fell for it.  I just want to see what others have noticed.
I think this might be from somebody who once worked for PayPal. Or somebody who did some research first.

Or from anybody who has seen an E-mail from paypal and can thus trivially reproduce it with their own information.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

Well, my defense is that I do not have a criminal mind and I would not have thought that it was that easy. :-[
