     Can anyone show conversion for Atari XF551, 5-1/4 drive mech to 3-1/2

    You want to convert a 5.25 inch disk drive to take 3.5 inch disks? Is that what you are asking? Or something else?

    From an electronics standpoint its not simple at all to make a more modern drive backwards compatible to an older system. If you wanted something more modern to work, I would go the direction of Cassette Load/Save and MP3.  * Not sure how sensitive the system is to a digital audio sample vs lossless analog audio though. I have heard of people getting older devices that allow cassette save/load to integrate with MP3 players. A whole bunch of programs could be stored on a 4GB MP3 player/recorder.  ;D
