The Pop-Up Window That Wasn't There
« on: November 10, 2017, 11:46:35 PM »
"The Pop-Up Window That Wasn't There" was my favorite episode of the old Hardy Boys TV series.

I put in new printer cartridges on my HP DeskJet.

Now, when I print, a taskbar button for HP shows up. When I press Alt-Tab, I can see the HP window, but I can't toggle to it. If I Win-Tab, I can click in its 'Close Window' box, but I can't select it and make it my top-most window.

It LOOKS like it's trying to sell me something, or make me sign up for some *censored* HP nonsense. But since I can't actually get to the window, I can't tell it "No, go away and don't come back."

(Which I believe was the last line of dialogue in that old Hardy Boys episode).

What do I do?
Dan: You're gonna need to get someone to fix my computer.                     Kim: What's wrong with it?                     Dan: It's in several pieces on my floor.

uninstall the printer driver.

Download a new fresh copy of the driver from HP

Install the driver and see if the problem comes back.
