That is a great CH articlde. But hyou haveto read the whole thing to understand the pirfalls. People who recieve a text this way might not like it.

Nothing in thearticle would indicate or suggest one is better.
Why not try all three and come back and tell us what you found?    :)

I use Textfree it works sometimes if you try using your number at yahoo to sign up for an account it will not work though do not understand how they know the difference number should be a number.  In my state you have available about 25 numbers to choose from what I wonder if the have to buy them then offer for free where is the profit in that?

      - Right?

EDIT: Even the BBC has a hard time explaining how Google makes money.

Google makes most of its money from selling advertising opportunities on the search pages so many of us use.

Advertisers bid to have ads for their products or services displayed on relevant search query result pages. A combination of the amount bid and the quality of a potential ad influences if an advertisement will feature at the top of the page, where more users are likely to see it. In order to encourage efficient bidding practices, Google uses a Vickrey auction system. Bidders don't know their rivals' bids. When all bids are in, the highest bidder wins but actually pays the price of the second highest bidder.

Somehow that explains why the give away stuff.  ::)
