     Windows 7
    I have some old mail with attached photos at Hotmail.
    I can download the Photo but it can not be opened. Downloaded photos  are identified as  "eml"
    I get "Open with"  Regardless of choice nothing works.

      Could not download necessary software, but ended up
      with  hp.myway.com which I can not eliminate and it interferes with
      going on the internet.

      You are infected...what protection apps do you have ? ?

      I would create a new Post in the Malware section here.....they will get you fixed up.

        I eliminated "My Way easy mail"
        Is it possible that I could not Download required software
        because I am using IE 7 ?

        You're using IE7?  Do you know how old it is?  It was released by Microsoft in October 2006.   

        What version of Windows are you using?

        IE7? Are you using Windows XP? Windows XP can go up to IE8, which is still very outdated.

        Oh. Sorry. I didn't notice that you said Win7 in your first post. Anyways, Windows 7 can go up to the latest version of IE, IE11. Think you need Service Pack 1, though.
