Why would you require a screen saver?

I am very aware of what screensavers were made for.

However, the same conditions no longer apply. Monitors no longer show the burnmarks they obtain when leaving them on whilst not using them.

Unless, ofcourse, I am terribly wrong...

We delete and disallow screensavers here at work.  Often when a user downloads and installs a screensaver (usually webshots) it robs the pc of processing power and causes more confusion.  I've had guys in the plant that assumed when the screensaver came on that they had to force a reboot to get it to go away.  No Thanks.

I was referring more to those 3rd party screensavers but we do use another app (Zenworks) to prevent users from running any screensavers.

Restrict the Screen Saver (Windows 2000/XP)
This restriction can be used to specify the screen saver or to stop screen savers from running. Also, the Screen Saver settings page is disabled, so users cannot change the screen saver options.

I was actually being sarcastic. You said your colleagues would reset their PC if a screensaver were to show. *Hint* *Hint*

I terminated most processes that are not required to be running.

I could send you the guide I used as reference, if you wish?
