    usb problems
    « on: March 29, 2018, 09:51:35 AM »
I have barely been able to use this computer for the past 3 weeks. Everytime I would start it up I never knew if it would boot to the old desktop from 5 months ago or the current one. When on the old desktop, evrerything was gone as far as files and such. I tried everything to fix this and decided to reformat. Now that I have disconnected all the usb devices, it is working like a new one. How do I fix this? I am going to put another usb card in the computer is that ok?  Will that help with this problem? My usb devices are a web cam, a camera dock, keyboard, mouse, 2 external drives, speakers.  Right now the mouse and keyboard are plugged in and it is working great..I need those other devices though.

Plug the other devices in ONE AT A TIME, rebooting after each, to see where the problem is. Just as a test, use the same USB port each time.
