I'm not entirely sure that I'm putting this plea for help in the right place because I'm not entirely sure what's really going on. A couple days ago my computer started acting funny. At first it was just lagging quite badly on games, which I thought was probably just something to do with the WiFi, as the games I typically play are MMOs, so I didn't worry about it. But then other applications started acting up; Google Chrome would stop responding, the application I use for digital art would stop responding, response times in general were, and still are, painfully slow, even to close an unresponsive application. I thought something must be up so I ran a scan on Malwarebites and it came up with two TrojanAgent.vbs files. Now, I'm no expert when it comes to virus software but I understand that Trojan software disguises itself to get into your computer - but I haven't downloaded anything recently so I'm not really sure where it came from. Anyway, I restarted my computer as was suggested to me by Malwarebytes so that it could do its thing and get rid of the bad stuff, but I noticed the restart was taking a reeally long time to do. I got tired of waiting and turned off the computer and started it back up again myself. My problem isn't solved. Applications are still not responding after a little while of being opened, once they are open and reportedly responding I still can't really do anything, they're really slow and often when I click something nothing happens. I can't open Windows Defender. Pressing the lil' windows logo doesn't work. I can't search anything in the toolbar. Cortana isn't responding to my voice. I'm trying to run a full computer scan on F-Secure Safe but it doesn't seem to want to scan past 1%. It's like the whole system is frozen up. I'm really at a loss here. Please help!

Hello and welcome to Computer Hope Forum. My name is Dave. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer.

    1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
    2. The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
    3. If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to ask.
    4. Please DO NOT run any other tools or scans while I am helping you.
    5. It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
    6. Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
    7. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

If you can't access the internet with your infected computer you will have to download and transfer any programs to the computer you're using now and transfer them to the infected computer with a CD-RW or a USB storage device. I prefer a CD because a storage device can get infected. If you use a storage device hold the shift key down while inserting the USB storage device for about 10 secs. You will also have to transfer the logs you receive back to the good computer using the same method until we can get the computer back on-line.
