Google Chrome is very slow and shuts off
    « on: July 24, 2018, 09:02:10 AM »
Now, I posted in the other thread that thanks to Super Dave, I think his name is, the ransomware is gone. So, thank you, Super Dave. I have this problem. I can't seem to open a new tab to get into a website. I can get into the website but it takes forever to do it. It shouldn't
take this long. Plus, I still have "Google didn't shut down, restore the pages?". Also, getting from one page to another takes forever and lots of times it shuts off. What I mean is that I'll be on Google Chrome and all of a sudden, it will just shut off.

What do I have to do to fix this? And please, dumb it down.

Does the same thing happen with other browsers (Firefox, IE, Opera, etc)?

I don't know. I don't use Firefox. I tried IE and it does the samething. I don't use Opera.

Please boot to safe mode with networking enabled and see if it does the same thing.

No offense, but instead of waiting for a response to a post you should start to use Google for some questions: https://www.google.com/search?q=boot+to+safe+mode+with+networking&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1

I tried that link and it didn't work. I had already tried that link before you posted it. First, Google Chrome would automatically shut off and then when I was finally able to get to the page, whatever I tried didn't work.

You should make sure it does the same thing with all of your browsers or not. And the best thing perhaps is scanning your system. You may have an additional piece that the previous virus left and you need to clean your system further. The only solution in my opinion

Ok, how do I scan the system?

Btw, as an update, Google Chrome still automatically shuts off and still does "restore the pages?" thing that I mentioned in previous post. Now, could it be that Directv Now Streaming Service takes up a lot of memory and therefore when your watching that, you can only have maybe one or two other tabs open?

Firefox seemed to be stalling too.
