    Download Problem
    « on: August 17, 2018, 09:42:52 AM »
    hello all,

i haven't been able to download/save ANYTHING for about a month.  some of the things i tried to download are in "downloads", but the majority are NOT.
some of the downloaded files have a title, but they're empty.

i got an email this morning stating that "......is now able to VIEW AND DOWNLOAD.  i clicked VIEW AND DOWNLOAD and the item came up and disappeared.
tried it six (6) times and could NOT download/print it.

i looked in "documents and downloads", it was not there.

this is going on much too long...  am i doing something incorrectly ? :-[

    thank you.

      hi patio,

      today.
i've been rather slack about them.  maybe twice a month...
but, when i DO run them they detect nothing wrong.

how can i download (following directions) and not find it in "documents/downloads" or it's empty ?

i've lost some important information !

earlier this morning i was looking through the net for an answer and alot of people thought it was due to cleaning the registry (elimination of good and bad).

      HELP, please ?

      Just wondering:

      1. switching browser you use doesn't make any difference?
      2. does changing directory where stuff is stored or specifying the location you want every time something is downloaded make any difference?

Also for the time being, if you have a tablet or a phone that you can use to access the emails, you can get your stuff that way until you figure out why pc is giving you issues.

and if they aren't in the Downloads folder, try the TEMP folder.

bring up the Run box by pressing the Start key and R at the same time.
type in %temp% and hit Enter - that will take you to the user temp folder.

Just reread your reply...if you messed around with the registry all bets are off...

        hi 2x3i5x,
        1 - no.
2 - no.  it gets sent to "save as" to docs or dwnlds.
        i don't have tablet/phone.  i'll just keep plugging along.
        thank you.

        hi patio,
using google chrome.  i went through all the docs/dwnlds, but couldn't find the fatality folders.  many thanks, though.

        hi mark,
did as you suggested, but something weird is going on.  there were files in there, but they were EMPTY !  if i had the $ i'd buy a new pc and win ce.  thank you, sir.

        hey patio,
i personally did not enter the dark world of the registry.  i meant registry cleaners (ex. - ccleaner).   after reading  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Registry_cleaner
i may never use one again.
but, then again, evilfantasy counsels ccleaner in his software section, "computer viruses and spyware".  acknowledged again...
