Hi! I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop. I've only had it for 2 months. The hard drive abruptly stopped working. "Hard drive not detected." I kept getting the same message every time I booted the computer.

About 5 hours later I rebooted again and it started working. Can anyone please explain to me what's going on and if I need to replace my hard drive? Thanks!

The HDD is not seated proper...remove battery...and all power and remove-reseat the drive...

Since only 2 months old, should still be under warranty (assuming you purchased new) so don't mess with it, call Dell.  If you start messing with it you might end up voiding your warranty.

IMO, Patio's suggestion would be the route to take on an older, out of warranty machine.
