I killed my windows
« on: January 01, 2006, 01:56:13 AM »
Ok, I recently ran a registry checker/cleaner, and it reccomended i get rid of some "unnecessary" files that it turns out were necessary, now here is the big problem, i don't have the win2k boot disk, or have access to one, nor have i ever created a emergency disk, is it possible to get the file that i need back onto the computer with a non edr floppy, as in just loading the single file on?  (BTW the message i'm getting is "Window 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt<windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe") any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=30670   ......I think this is only good for win 98 ........( but it may be worth a try )

Are you able to reboot and choose use last known good configuration ?
BTW ....you shouldn't remove things from the registry without first backing it up .
