MS account
« on: September 09, 2018, 06:21:31 PM »
My problem is that I'm running a computer with dual-boot: 8.1 and XP. I want to work and play in 8.1 but I can't download any games. I registered for my MS account but when I try to sing in to install some games I keep getting error messages. Is there any way to contact MS to get this mess cleared up?

Have you tried a different computer to see if its something to do with the acct itself?

When I input the account number that was sent to me and the password I get the message that I require an email address, phone number or Skype. When I try entering my email address I receive an "incorrect" warning. Here is a statement I received from MS when I registered the account that I find confusing.

Please use this code to reset the password for the Microsoft account da*****@nbnet.nb.ca.
Here is your code: xxxxxxx.
Does that mean that the account is in the name of my email address?[/COLOR]

Just an update: The number they gave me was to reset the password which worked and I was able to install some apps. Now, I have trouble getting my email but my IP provider should be able to sort that out. Thanks.

Cool that you got it figured out.

I have had issues with my Microsoft Windows Live account before which was odd in that I wasnt able to logon to it. Then attempted to recover my account by selecting forgot password and it said that none of my e-mail addresses matched anything they had on file. I then had an option to enter account name vs the email associated with the account and then they sent me a password reset to an email address of mine that they claimed wasnt on record.  ::)

I hadn't used my Windows Live account in almost 2 years and feared that they tombstoned inactive accounts, but i was able to get it back.
