Possible BIOS issue?
« on: October 27, 2018, 03:36:11 PM »
So, more XP woes. I turned my laptop off for a few minutes, and then turned it back on.

It boots, but this is strange. It said I wasn't using a Dell 65W power cord and it would run slower and not charge. Huh. But the problem is..... I am using a Dell 65W power cord. Very weird.

Please help, I don't like using my phone to type on also!

It won't let me pose the screenshot. Apparently it's not a 700KB or lower picture.

Dell Laptop chargers have a Data pin which communicates to the system what the power rating is. You get this message if there is power being delivered but the data pin is not responding. Likely that either there is no continuity between the AC Adapter and the Laptop on that wire, or something is broken/loose in either the power plug or the power socket of the laptop.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

Thanks. I will try to use my spare charging cord when I find it.
