Computer freezes when connected to the internet.

I just built my first computer and after installing win 10 and all the drivers from the disks everything is running fine but as soon as I connect to the internet and run anything from task manager to installing something the computer freezes.  Sometimes it happens right away and other times it will last from anywhere between 2min and 4+ hours.  Any ideas as to what may be the problem.

CPU- ryzen 7 1700x
GPU- radeon 570
RAM- 1x8gb of G skill ripjaws v series
Motherboard- B450 tomahawk

Hi

First check that Windows 10 has completed installing updates. These may be taking priority over other computer tasks.

Your motherboard supported the CPU and Ram from the first version. There is updated drivers from the last 2 months which may have missed the mother board dvd.

Please select your windows version to get the correct drivers.

There is also some Bios updates which you could try if the new drivers don't help.

Ok I updated the motherboard drivers and the bios and let win 10 finish updating but the computer is still freezing

Is your RAM on the MBoards QVL list according to the Manual ? ?

Also is it a new or used HDD ? If used run the free diagnostics on it from the HDD manuf. site..

Perhaps run speccy from here https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/builds

Select the portable version so you can run it without being connected to the internet.

Then select file,  Publish snapshot and copy the link here.

What I will look for is bios version, ram make and if they are on the the motherboard QVL
What programs are running
And driver versions as well as lots of other things.

Also you could check in event logs any errors happening when the lockup occurs. as shown here https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/75433

Does the whole computer lockup ie mouse and keyboard not working or just the internet browser. ?

No i did the diagnostic program on the website, not one specifically tied to my hard drive.

there are multiple errors in event viewer but I dont know which ones are significant and which ones aren't. How can i tell or find out what it means?

Hi

I have checked the speccy report and everything is correct. Next suggestion is if you can to remove the wireless card and connect to the internet with an ether net cable. And see if it locks up

Also I can't see drivers or any information about the Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter which if setup correctly should be in the report. Perhaps this is the problem and by taking the card out and re installing, windows will install complete support.
