Hope for many who find it hard to read or write.

New advances in Technology will help a lot of people.  8)

Anybody what has a hard time reading may also have a hard time writing. In many advanced nations  large numbers or adults can not read or write. This past year notable improvements have become available.

I am not going to include a link about how widespread literacy is in advanced countries. You already know that.

Some recent advances in Computer technology can help. Test to speech helps poor readers. A voice recognition program helps poor writers. And the technology is getting better and the cost is coming down. Some things are now free.

Help for Adult who want to read.

There are Free voice recognition apps with almost good accuracy. Look here:

For Windows:

Or use a free on-line service:

Here's my personal recommendation. Do not buy Dragon Naturally Speaking unless you really need it. If you must, first try a older version found on eBay. Version 12 sells for a fraction of  the costs and is almost as good. I go tit for under $29 with shipping. And it had a headset in the package with the CD.

I have used DNS for years to both read to me and to take dictation. It work sgood. Just over priced,in my opinion.

Fell free to correct to add to this post.  :)
