Normally I am pretty good at writing down my passwords for web sites that I register with. Well one of the websites has an issue with the captcha not working because its out of date as the error message states and I found this when trying to reset my password that I forgot.
I realized that a laptop that I haven't used in a few months I might have used for accessing this website and I might have stored the password because the website is not a dangerous website to store a password in the browser for it. I fired up the laptop and went to this website and it logged me on. Cool, but what is my password?
So I looked online for a way to see what my password is in Firefox and found PasswordFox at
https://nirsoft.net/utils/passwordfox.htmlI have used Nirsoft's tools before but wasn't aware of this tool. Well the tool works awesome. Downloaded it and scanned it and then ran the software and it displayed all stored passwords in the browser.
Only drawback to this software is that I didn't see an ability to print what is displayed. However I was able to use the printscreen key and paste the screenshot of all stored passwords into mspaint and save all the info as JPG file to use for future reference.
I then was able to go back to my main desktop computer and logon to the site and contact the owner of the website that their password reset feature isn't working because their captcha errors as out of date and notify the webmaster.
