webm and mkv file tumbnail icon dosen't show up

hi

i have been experiencing some problems displaying video thumbnails on my file explorer this happens to mkv and webm files and sometimes to mp4 files this happened after i installed a new ssd and reinstalled windows 10 pro on my laptop

basically what happens instead of showing the thumbnail it shows the vlc or the pot player logo

note: most of my webm files are stored on a flash drive

The VLC logo is cause it's the app assigned to open them...
To change this rite clik whichever file...select Properties ...and change icon...select from the drop-down list and select save

i tried to do that but the customization tab in the properties menu isn't available when i click on video files
