Windows 10 Lite and UEFI override on laptop with BIOS?
    « on: May 25, 2019, 05:47:15 PM »
    Hi!

I think this is generally not really possible to solve, but for question I give nothing.

I want to use on my old laptop Windows 10 Lite x86.
I tested WinLite in VMware and set there so low preferences as possible to run it. Even VMware VM has selected BIOS and IDE interface and it works.

My laptop is old and has 32-bit CPU and BIOS.
I created USB by Rufus. Rufus failed when was creating parttion table for BIOS, so I couldn't to use BIOS type, I used UEFI.

So, after many words simple stupid question:
Is possible by any way override UEFI check on BIOS based machine?
'Cause this is the only one problem why I cannot to install it there.

    Thank you for patience.

GParted is a free partition editor that can shrink, split, format, and modify Windows, Linux, and other OS partitions.
    Try it.  :)
EDIT: Forgot to mention. You should turn of the UEFI in the BNIOS.
GPard has a flag to set MBR. It might be named MSDOS flag.

Laptop model is very old Compaq Evo N1000v with Pentium 4 2GHz CPU and 1GB RAM + IDE controller for harddisk.

I have GParted and know to work with.
But why partitioning it first when it breaks boot from USB installer for UEFI requirement?
Or think you to use GParted for USB installer?

Problem for CH: "Lite" or modified versions of Windows, made unofficially from install media, are in contravention of the Windows EULA and hence illegal. The unofficial Windows 10 Lite edition is not legal as it is not hosted by Microsoft and is not licensed by Microsoft for distribution. Advice on piracy or license violation is against Computer Hope rules.

Ok, how is possible that Windows Lite is illegal when writing about RSS sources like Windows version in development?
I know that it is not yet released, but is it not like Insider builds?
Really what I can't confirm is source of download - it is longer time ago and I think it was refereed in my RSS reader.
