What Graphics Cards Are Compatible With My PC?
    « on: July 11, 2019, 01:50:05 AM »
    Motherboard: ( http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-2ada-foxconn/ )
    Tower: HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1414 ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03506147 )
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics
    RAM: 8GB
    Processor: Intel(R) Core i3-2130 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
    Windows: 10

Elder Scrolls Online PC Requirements: ( https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26031 )

This is everything that i believe you need to know for my question. I want to know, what type of graphics cards am I able to use with my PC? I only ask because I was told certain graphics cards are not compatible with certain motherboards. All my PC information is in those 2 links. I also ask because my tower is quite slim compared to most, and I'm not sure if size matters in this situation. I'm not very computer literate.

So, what type of graphics cards can I get? I would like to upgrade mine. Mainly because when I try to play games, I get through the entire downloading phase and then i get an error saying something about my DirectX. I have DirectX 11.1, but, I get this error: "Your DirectX version is unsupported."

The game I'm trying to play is Elder Scrolls Online. I have a link to the game's requirements at the top so you can compare it to what I currently have and maybe be able to tell me what the issue is? Basically, I'm looking at the game's "minimum requirements" and it looks as if I have everything but I don't really know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And maybe if possible you can show me what kind of graphics cards would allow me to play this game. Or whatever else I might need. (I'm on sort of a low budget... so I don't need anything fancy.. just whatever is minimum for me to be able to at least play this game. Good performance or bad.

Biggest issue with this computer is that its not the best computer case for a gaming build. However you could get the game to run with it if you find a low profile video card that is powered directly from the PCI Express BUS power, and of which the video card power requirements fall within the 350 watt power supply that is proprietary to this case.

There is a GTX 1050 that is low profile that is powered from PCI Express BUS power that might work for you, but I am not sure if anything else in this slim case will conflict with its low but thick spacial relation of the thick heatsink with fans for cooling. You might need to buy it and see if it fits without conflict and if it fits your golden and if it doesnt then you would need to go with a lesser powerful video card that only takes up the space of a single card slot. This video card below needs space to consume 2 card slots. And this is the best performance video card i can think of for the money for what would work for your computer.

Other issue you can run into is that the video card heats up the air quickly in the small slim case and so you might find yourself having to add slot fans to draw more airflow through the case to avoid an overheat of the hardware.

    Power specs of it are:

    Power consumption: 75W
    Recommended PSU: 300W
