Invalid Config - Date and Time
    « on: July 14, 2019, 09:09:49 PM »
I have had a bad battery for a long time that will not charge up. If I don't have it plugged in, then the computer shuts down instantly. I bought a new battery. Nothing much better. The new battery would only charge up to in the 30% range at its best. Suddenly, started getting things like cannot find disk or something like that during boot. I could shut it down and the next time it would be normal. Much later on, started getting invalid configuration -time and date not set or invalid. I went into bios and changed it. Everything was fine, but then if I cut the plug, and turn it back on..........same problem again. Then another issue, when I give the laptop power again by plugging it in......it turns right on without me pressing down the power button? I looked into the bios for boot sequence and things....can't figure that out. I've thought that maybe a virus could have caused some of this? I bought a new Cmos battery but don't have it yet. I run windows 7 professional and my laptop is a dell lattitude e6510.

This will continue til the CMOS battery is replaced...
