What email client/software do you use?  Outlook Express?

Well, if you're talking about the Deleted Items folder. you can right click on it and select "Empty Deleted Items folder".

If you're talking about deleting messages from other folders, you can select more the one at a time, either by holding Shift or Ctrl after clicking on the first message to be deleted.  Use Shift to select two or more consecutive messages; use Ctrl to select non-consecutive messages.  When you have selected the ones you want to delete, right click and select Delete, or drag them to the Deleted Items folder.

You might also want to set OE to automatically empty the Deleted Items folder upon closing OE.  To do that, go to Tools, Options, Maintenance, and check the box for "Empty messages ...".

If you receive email from many senders, both wanted and unwanted, and you're not using Message Rules to help manage your email, you should try using that feature.  You can direct messages from specific senders to specific OE folders.  Saves time.

Are you getting a lot of spam?
