Controller Causes PC to Lag!!!

Hey guys, I recently finished building my pc. The only problem I've had is that when I plug my ps4 controller into my pc to play fortnite, my whole pc lags. Around every 5-10 minutes, my discord and fortnite lag. This lasts for about 10 seconds and then it's back to normal. When this happens my pc doesn't recognize my ps4 controller. When this happens, Fortnite drops from 300 frames to around 20. My friends in discord say my voice also lags. One of my friends has my exact same build and he also gets this problem. This only happens on my ps4 controller, never on mouse and keyboard.
