Save a Word doc to a PDF doc

For some reason, my word docs can no longer be saved at PDF docs.  I am not sure what the problem is or how to fix it.  "Sorry but we couldn't find a program to open this file" comes up on the screen as I try to save it.  Any suggestions?

Install Foxit Reader if you have FireFox.

It seems a Windows 10 update has broken Word . There is 2 ways to fix this either update word to  Office Word 2016 version 16.0.6769.2015. You can check your version with Help about word.

You could also try a word repair if you are using office 2016 you could try a repair as described here  https://www.repairwin.com/how-to-repair-office-2016-2013-2010-or-2007/

And perhaps if all else fails try administrator command prompt, sfc /scannow
This will check the windows system files and repair any damaged files.

I have the same error on my Mac. The fix is to install an old version of Word and do it again. You can also use online service to convert word to pdf, which is not hard to find.
