    Activation Issue

    I bought Win 8 pro a few years ago from PC-World now Curry's PC-World and have only used it once, preferring Windows 7. Yesterday I reinstalled Win 8. Twice I've had a message asking me to activate Win 8. I typed in the Product Key from the card, which came with the discs, only to be told I'd entered the wrong product key or words to that effect. I took great care to type in the five parts of the Product key.

    How can this be when I correctly entered the Product Key on the card I was able to proceed with the installation process.

    I suggest you call Microsoft's activation number - they are generally pretty easy to deal with: (888) 352 7140

        I tried it, was on for well over 10 minutes going through the options. In the end I thought to heck with it and gave up.
