I just purchased a new computer equipped with Windows Media Center. I also purchased a 5.1 surround sound system to use with the computer. When I play files outside of the media center, the surroud sound works properly. When I play any file in the media center (music, tv, dvd), it only outputs 2 channel audio. I have done all of the proper set up and when I choose the "test" option, it works fine. I tried the registry patch that was put out to fix this problem, and this has not solved it. This is hugely frustrating and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
