C drive help

DOS command to delete C drive? Anyone know?

    But you can't delete c: from c:.
    You will need to do it from a boot disk.

    Agh, somebody told me that there was a way to erase the entire C drive.

      There is, but you can't do it from c: just as you can't pull yourself up by your shoelaces.

      Boot from a Dos Bootdisk:

      type fdisk /mbr
      type fdisk erase partition c:
      create a new partition c:
      format this partition with format

      then c: is deleted and a new partition c is created.
      FAT 16.

          Keep my regular files and stuff, but delete Windows... possible?

          Is anything like that possible?

          The thing someone told me to type was del C * :** blah blah C's Del's, and astrix's.... Idk... I forgot it...

            Then you would first have to save the things you want to keep then it's an easy task to do a fresh install of windows.

            i have a similar problem; my computer is royally screwed up and my windows wont start. i would reinstall windows but my hard drive is to full to hold the new version. so i was wonderinbg if there was way to just totally clear a hard drive
