    I am using Maxell cd-r for some cd burning. I have been using these cd's forever, and today, my computer won't read any cd-r's anymore.
    HP Pavilion A6010n
    Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.80 ghz
    XFX Nvidia 7600gt PCI-E graphics card
    2 GB Kingston DDR2 SDRAM PC4200
    Antec 500W PSU

      I got avest, zone alarm, firefox, and spybot s&d, if that is the problem, explain how to fix it please.

      Try that drive on another computer. The optics can give out although the mechanical portion (drawer opens and closes) continues to fiunction. Luckily they are cheap. How old is it? It sounds like you use it a lot.  ;)

        I have tried on my family's computer, and it works fine. But it doesn't display in the drive at all on my computer. I just bought some new ones today. Fresh out of the case.

              Is it recognized in the BIOS? Is it recognized in My Computer? Any yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager? What operating system?
