Windows 2000

Hi All.......
I'm in th emiddle of attempting to "make" an old computer "reusable.  I hate having my good one tied up for my wife to play solitaire ;)  It's an older PII 350 that the original HD pooped out. I have managed to acquire some old hard drives from work from units that were being decommissioned. I installed a unit that has Windows 2000 installed on it.  It starts, shows the Windows 2000 start up bar on the bottom, then stops :-?
thanks

For proper performance WIndows should be loaded on the hardware that is going to run it. People seldom find happiness in doing what you are doing. Who knows what hardware that was optimized for during Windows setup? You can do that with Linux, not Windows.
