CD ROM
« on: March 30, 2004, 11:45:51 PM »
I have just installed windows in a second user machine with a new hard drive, that part is fine. But now after re-booting one cant find the cd in windows. I've tried re-installing to cd but still no luck. Has anyone any ideas. Also I have checked autoexec.bat and config.sys and they are both empty.

If you have just installed the hard drive have you verified the jumpers on the CD-ROM AND the hard disk drive are properly set to master / slave?

Yes I have made sure the jumpers are set to master on the hhd and slave on the CD. This is also indicated in the bios setup menu. But still you can not see the CD in windows. ???
