The Sims Complete Collection HELP!
« on: April 18, 2006, 10:20:20 AM »
A few days ago I had The Sims: Deluxe Edition installed on my computer. It had always worked perfect. THen, every time I would try to start the game it would crash right after the banner thing. I tried it several times and it would never load the game. So I decided to uninstall it. I did, but then could not get it to install again. It would get to 25% every time and freeze. So I quit trying and put it away.

Yesterday I bought The Sims Complete Collection. It installed successfully, so I figured it would work fine after the installation. I was wrong. I have not been able to play it yet, it does the same thing the first game did. I open the game, the banner runs, it acts like the game is about to load and a black screen comes up then it closes out completely and takes me back to my desktop.

I am sooo irritated over this! Oh, I have XP by the way.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I had already been to the EA site...nothing I've found has worked. Or maybe I'm just not doing it right? I don't know....thanks for the help so far though.

Later Sims havea greatly increased need for processor AND graphics card. Are you sure your system is compatible with what you purchased? Look on the box.

Only the Sims 2 and expansions are very demanding. Trust me, if my Gateway computer could handle it, most any computer can. We're talking pre-sims 2 from what I know.

I finally got it to work. All I had to do was uninstall it and make sure everything was deleted from the last time...it wasn't. Now it works fine....how hard was that lol. Thanks for the help though!
