monitor resolution adjustment to low, please help!
« on: April 22, 2006, 03:02:14 PM »
I'm trying to install dsl on my brother's pc(dell precision 410 with 800mh proc.,512mb ram) and get stuck on monitor resolution too low warning page. The monitor won,t adjust beyond 400 x 600 resolution and 4-bit color( I need at least 80x600 and 16-bit). Also device manager says video controller(vga compatible) not installed/or enabled. Do I need driver downloads for both of these or is it something else . Any help is appreciated Thanks bob

You need to download & install drivers for your video card.

Edit: To do that you will first need to find out what video card you have, download, install & run Everest which will tell you. Keep it as it's a very good program.

Is this a CRT monitor or an LCD?

Go to right side of page and input info to get the correct drivers, or post your service tag (found on the machine) and we can assist.
