How do peoples ratings advance?
How do you become a moderator?

Your ratings will gradually advance based on how many posts you have. Please see http://www.computerhope.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1144299459 to see how far off you are from the next level. Also, you can only become a forum moderator if the amdin approves you. I suggest having a large amount of good posts first however.

Perhaps not the best way because someone who is forever having problems and asking a lot of questions would progress to a high level. LOL!
Moderators are fairly new on the CH forums, I'd guess Admin would want a Mod to be here often, have a reasonable level of skill and be level headed.
Moderators are to help the place run smoothly, it's not a status thing, just helping out.

Indeed. Here's the super-secret method I used, I'm revealing it today... drumroll.....

See, I made several FAQ threads in that forum, but Mac came back and I realized my topics were open to discussion. (This was back when I had 3 FAQ's instead of 17) After a long wait, the admin saw my threads, and granted me local Mod status. It helped that I was around for a while (I've been here for 7/10 of a year...), but the clincher was that I contributed useful info to the forums to be referenced, like the one that Flame and Fed just referenced.

Don't worry, its not my every day email. I'd die if it was. I haven't gotten a single message (as of yesterday APRIL 26). I want to hear what happened in other peoples lives. I want a look at the lives of other people. Think about it: You know EXACTLEY what your life is like, what if you could find out what someone else's was like?
