'Unknown Disk' Scenario, SATA HDD.
« on: May 09, 2006, 12:55:45 AM »
Hi all !,
I have just assembled a new PC using a SATA hard drive.
When I boot Win,XP Pro off the install CD it loads the drivers and I do the license,
I get to the partitions window where there is a list showing,,> 'the existing patitions
and unpartitioned space on this computer, select an item and press enter'..<
but in a box below I get,,, >'Unknown Disk. ( There is no disk in this drive ) four times?
Have formated the SATA hard drive with NTFS and tried a second drive with the same format but still
no drives turnup to choose for Windows OS,
Tried everything I can think of in the BIOS with no joy, its probaly somthing simple but just can't
put my finger on it!
Any Ideas, please......
Regards, Rockit...
