"ghost" programs on XP
« on: May 14, 2006, 03:17:36 PM »
There is something going on where every 15 minutes (almost exactly) a empty minimumized window with no icons or words in it apears for just a second then goes away. I haven't noticed any other problems and this doesn't bother me except when i am playing a full screen game, it causes the game to minimumize too. does anyone know the problem?

First start by making sure your system is clean:

Posting a few details about the computer, operating system service pack, malware protection, etc. is also helpful to get more in depth responses.  ;)

the computer is a compaq presario R3000. I use Norton anti virus, and Ad-Aware for protection. I have run both programs and the problem is still there.

You may want to run Hijack THis and zip the log file and post it here for analysis. It sounds like some kind of malware. Do you have any toolbar add ons installed? What operating system? All updates and service packs applied?
