tried to clean out computer
« on: July 13, 2011, 08:09:27 AM »
I wanted to defrag the computer but only had 11% memory and needed 15%.
After deleting files I now had 0% memory. I now have 2%.
it looks like instead of deleting they went to my C drive that I was trying to clean out.
I tried a restore and that did not help.
I am on Windows 2000 Professional.
Can anyone help w/this.

thx

First let's clarify the terminology. "Memory" refers to ram and swapfile. You are talking about hard disc space.

When you deleted the files they went to the recycle bin. Empty the Recycle Bin. Run Disc Cleanup. When you do, click on the "more options" tab and choose to clean up restore points. This will delete all but the most recent restore point - that should free up a LOT of space. Let us know.
