INFO NTFS vs FAT32 & why you should read this
« on: September 08, 2004, 01:46:05 PM »
Everyone using NT/2000/XP should read this and get a better idea of the difference between the two systems.

NTFS/FAT TABLE http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs_vs_fat.htm

NTFS/FAT INFO http://www.ntfs.com

NTFS runs on optimised 4096 byte clusters no matter what the size of drive.

FAT 32 is not supported on very large drive volumes and works better on small volumes anyway.

e.g. My C: drive is just 3·0Gb for ME

For XP it should be about 8·0Gb is the general advice, if you are going to partition your hard disk-drive.

For an even better understanding of computer file systems read all there is to read on this web-site.
