How to know what drivers you need
« on: September 09, 2004, 10:57:32 AM »
Got a second hand computer that apprently has been purged not only of registered programs, but also drivers.  I don't have any paper documentation of what the video or sound cards are.  How do I find out what drivers I need.

Have a look at the graphics card to find the manufacturer then log on to their Web Site

Right click on My Computer, manage and then Device Manager. This can tell you what hardware is installed.

I tried to do what you said, but can't find Device Manager.  The computer is running on Windows 98.  Will that make a difference?
