    compaq pIII system with 256 RAM i installed Ubuntu in it but i still have problem with sound i think it's drivers problem can any one tell me how to install driver i don't know much about linux and Ubuntu

    i'm new with linux :( :-/

    What is the sound chip? Onboard sound or add on card? Did you do any online research? What version of Ubuntu? See below.

      thanks GX for replying i have sound card there on its chip written ESS if i install fedora3 my sound card works if i install ubuntu it dosen't

        And my Ubuntu Version is 5.11 and how to install my modem driver i have drivers i don't know how to install it thanks
