changing out a DVD drive

I pulled out my DVD drive from my laptop to find the model number, since mine is not working very well, I am buying a used one over the internet but the only thing is that his model number is
SD-C2402.....and my model number is SD-C2502....would this DVD drive work on my laptop?  Its off my one digit....I dont know if that would make a difference??

I give up. What kind of machine? Drive? Did you check with the manufacturer of the computer, whomever that might be?
