Installing Vista
« on: August 23, 2006, 07:29:26 PM »
Ok, so I really screwed up my computer with XP, so I decided to nuke my hard drive and install vista beta 2 on it....I have a DVD with the ISO file on it, but I cant boot off it. The computer says it doesn't detect a boot media...I've done the bios stuff and I know that my dvd drive works. Has anybody else had a similar problem?

You have to burn the ISO file to a disc with Nero or some equivalent program. You can't just copy it off and expect it to run.

You screwed up your computer with XP and somehow you think you'll fare better with the Vista beta?!  Think again!
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.

Vista is still in beta!  Take heed to Rob's advice.  Wipe and reinstall you XP.  At least you're familiar with it.
