Unexpected shut down

Using Internet Explorer 5.2.3 on Emac OSX 10.2.8.  On home page there is list of news stories.  When I click on one to open and read, it starts to open then I get message "IE has unexpectedly quit."  Any ideas on problem and solution

Uninstall IE for your Mac, then reinstall it. If this doesnt work, then you should probably download FireFox for Macintosh.
FireFox should be less crash prone, although IE is still a very fine browser, FireFox is build a little bit better.
