As for the registry backup info, again, I appreciate the info regarding registry backup procedure, but at the moment I think it may be a moot point. Just the same, thanks. I’ll refer to this in the future.
That said, I may have a good version of the registry on the new or old hard drive. I’m not clear on precisely what files comprise the registry in XP, so I don’t know how to effectively replace a bad version with a good version.
I’m also curious if there is any way to use any of the numerous windows restore points to manually fix windows.
