New PC
« on: September 27, 2006, 03:21:22 AM »
Hey people, I've had a couple of arrangements regarding to the computer problem and seemingly upgrading my current PC will be useless and pointless, hence, I've received an offer for a new computer, I would like to consult with you people about this offer which I will write down below, any comments about it will be welcomed.

Pentium 4 Intel Pentium D945 Dual Core Processor (3.4-GHz, 2x2MB L2 cache,80-MHz FSB)
512 DDR II Synch Dram CHANNEL 533MHZ
Intel 945G Express chipset Graphics Media Accelerator 950 128MB
80GB 7200RPM Quiet Seek Serial ATA 2
Integrated Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet NIC
Integrated High Definition audio with Realtek 2 channel ALC260 codec
6 USB2.0 BACK
2X USB 2.0 FRONT + LINE OUT + MIC(FRONT)
CD-ROM
Drive

3 Years responsibility

$675.5 (Including the V.I.T)

I will seemingly be purchasing, or at least I hope I will find, a Geforce 7900 elsewhere, due to the fact I suspect I'll find the same card in a cheaper price than the price they've offered for it. (Suggestions for other graphic cards, or recommended prices, will also be embrased.)

Two things that would halt me from purchasing that computer are:

Quote
80GB 7200RPM Quiet Seek Serial ATA 2

Far too small for the money you're spending 200 gigs minimal?

Quote
CD-ROM Drive

Where's the CD/DVD-RW?

I assume it doesn't come with a mouse, nor keyboard, nor monitor.

For the same price you could probably get a bigger HDD and a CD-DVD/RW at a different store.

Everything Raptor said ( 250+ gig HD if possible) and  , be aware that the Pentium D "runs hot" , get good cooling options on that and the price seems a little high compared to building yourself  or even getting more on the bare bones side to purchase*.
